Madras Cotton Lace Curtains featured on this page are made on the same 100 year old Scottish looms as our many Nottingham style Lace Curtains are created. However they are woven in a very different way. The overall background in the designs are created in a solid Muslin weave. The motif pattern is then additionally woven in a second pass over the muslin The protruding threads at the edges of the motif are then trimmed. This very different double weave effect produces an attractive unique design feature not found in traditional Lace patterns. It is a different look that you may not have seen before. For that reason it may be important that you request a free sample of these patterns before ordering.
